Basic Advice of Photography?
February 25th, 2010 by admin
I am really interested in photography and just got my first good camera.
So my question is (as said) what’s just some basic stuff I should know about photography? effects? techniques? sets? getting my stuff out there? focusing? photography "slang"? exposure? lighting? etc… thank you so much and I will always pick a best answer ^_^
It seems like your know very little about photography. you might just want to take a class.

I can really recommend this book as an excellent source for a beginner: "Get the Most from Your Digital Camera," by Simon Joinson.
http://www.amazon.com/s?ie=UTF8&search-type=ss&index=books&field-author=Simon%20Joinson&page=1
I am sure that it is not "everything" Simon knows about photography, but it is sure to help you get started.

Someone told me last night that I wasn’t slamming people enough for asking dumb questions. I thought about it for a moment and it seemed to me that there weren’t any.
If you don’t know anything about photography, how can you even claim you just got your ‘first good camera"? From your questions, you don’t know what a good camera is… and certainly haven’t done any research on photography.
Try reading something about it before asking a thousand questions that would take all day to answer.
Limit your questions to specifics, not generalities. You asked 10 questions in the space of one paragraph and you want us to spend the rest of the day explaining one word questions?
Here’s your sign.
Focusing? Read about it.
Slang? Read about it.
Lighting?…. I think you get my drift.
Then come back and ask a thoughtful question. For now, just go away and read.
